Sheriff Joe Arpaio oversees the move of a mixed crowd of jail un-convicted inmates, chats and jokes with them, and answers some exclusive questions for BARRIOZONA.
We should remember that different political, social and spiritual forces were in operation in 2006 and each new day brings its own challenges and opportunities.
Ideally the Marcha can be wisely utilized for the building up of social organization and the urgently needed infrastructure and machinery for a growing, expanding and consciousness raising Movimiento interconnected with all progressive liberation movements.
It would be good if Moctesuma or someone in a high leadership position would record a YouTube video to invite others to the upcoming May Day and this should be done as soon as possible.. We need to wisely utilize all forms of mass communications from websites, to online groups, blogs, comments on news articles and most certainly videos. A lot of people cognitize (as in recognize) better with visual images along with audio words, though reading penetrates deeper into the brain certain.
It is all a matter of informing, educating and raising mass consciousness and wisely balancing the power of the Internet, doing local community work and the power of personal presentations before various churches, organizations and community-based groups.

EL PASO - After touring the El Paso-Juárez border on Monday, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul said he would to try to double the budget for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
McCaul, R-Texas, said he would file a bill increasing the ICE budget to $5 billion. It currently is $2.4 billion.
As ranking member of the Homeland Security intelligence Subcommittee, McCaul also said he would try to get sheriff's departments along the Southwest border $600 million in funding.
Congress' appropriations cycle begins in June, and any money approved would be available by year's end.
"We literally arm and fund these dangerous cartels," McCaul said of guns and cash that flow illegally from the United States to drug lords Mexico. "We share this problem and we need to do what we can to help."
McCaul joined a long list of elected and appointed U.S. officials who have visited the U.S.-Mexico border in the past two months. All of the officials said the visits were needed because drug cartel violence in Mexico presents a threat to national security in the form of spillover violence.
While in El Paso last week, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano named a border czar and announced that most vehicles traveling to Mexico would be inspected.
El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles said any additional money sent to the federal agencies along the border would help his department. Wiles said it was too early to tell how any increases in funding for border sheriff's department would be
used.
But, he said, he knew of one job his deputies would not do.
"The community does not want us stopping people solely to determine what their immigration status is," Wiles said.
He said he was working with McCaul to make sure the bill does not force any sheriff's departments to enforce immigration laws.
Last year, critics accused the El Paso sheriff's office was of setting up immigration checkpoints. While he was campaigning for office last year, Wiles was repeatedly asked if his deputies would double as immigration officers. He always said they would not.

BOSTON (AP) - The racial balance in Massachusetts' largest school district has shifted, with Latinos now accounting for Boston's largest percentage of students.
Black students previously comprised the largest population segment of the schools, which have about 55,800 children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
This year's annual student count shows Latinos accounted for 38.1% of all students while blacks comprised 37.9%. The change follows decades of steady growth among children of Hispanic backgrounds and declines in the percentage of black children in the district.
The changing face of the city's schools reflects a surging immigrant population across Massachusetts.
Boston school district figures show about 13% of students are Caucasian, about 9% are Asian and the rest are multi-racial or other ethnicities.
