Comment: Sadly a lot of people look at the immigration issue with prejudicial emotion, not logical reason. We need humane immigration legislation and that is not going to happen anytime soon, not under a U.S. Congress controlled by rich White men.
We should reconcile ourselves to the idea that one kind of amnesty or another is needed. Until that is soundly accomplished no Mexican in the U.S. will want to 'come out of the shadows'.
See clearly the historical context. These lands were once Mexico, especially the U.S. Southwest, then before being claimed by Mexico they were all Native indigenous lands. White folks should not let any remnants of social racism color their analysis of this subject. I say 'social racism' because we are actually one race of human beings.
Remember that the U.S.A. is the result of a double-genocide against those who were indigenous or native to the lands and Black Africans. Let history be a guide to action, not any remnants of racism.
