Lunes, Junio 04, 2007 ~ Gracias Companera Francisca {are you the daughter of the esteemed Professor Frank Godinez?}~
Forgive my delay in responding. I am usually busy doing stuff offline out in the local area and at my regular place of employment at the local Salvation Army homeless shelter on 1200 North 'B' Street en Sacra.
It is good to see more Latinos taking an interest in sharing and communicating online via the Internet in this new millenium and its emphasis on communications technology.
I will forward this to others of La Raza, including a few Yahoo Groups:
In the future, take the time to join up with and share with:
Description
Aztlannet_Arte is great place to share information about Chicano artists, exhibits and literature events. The group provides a forum (salon) in sharing ideas, knowledge, viewpoints, critiques, book reviews, poetry and historical studies. Our members believe that the Chicano arts are a valuable community resource, essential to the community's social, educational and economic lives.
Plus, check out its root website:
"Art is the heart's explosion on the world. Music. Dance. Poetry. Art on cars, on walls, on our skins. There is probably no more powerful force for change in this uncertain and crisis-ridden world than young people and their art. It is the consciousness of the world breaking away from the strangle grip of an archaic social order."

E-NEWS JUNE 2007
For 35 years, La Raza Galeria Posada's mission has been to advance, celebrate, and preserve the art and culture of Chicana/o, Latina/o, and Native Peoples for
present and future generations. Today, we serve the community through a year round exhibition series, community education workshops and events, literary and
music events and cultural ceremonies.
In June 2007, La Raza presents multidisciplinary presentations and exhibitions, with the start of a summer speaker series. Supported by grants from the
California Arts Council, Creating Public Values Program, and the Cultural Arts Award from the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, the speakers,
