Read: [NetworkAztlan_News] Chicano Warrior Enters the Spirit World

Gracias Companero Carlos ~ I am sure that the Spirit of Companero Ralph Cerda lives on! From your report he was a highly evolved humane being who had great love for his people and La Causa de Liberacion!
It is men such as Carlos that assures me of our ultimate victory, no matter what the great sacrifices that must be made to meet the awesome challenges to come.
It is a good way to go to the other side in one's sleep, the same as Cesar Chavez did, though I myself would prefer a firefight!
The body may fall in the end and expire, the spirit lives on for eternity, especially our loved ones who live on through our lives, through our memories, through our souls and can constantly inspire us to new battles. Ultimately we will find that the whole world is spiritual in nature. This is part of why the high-technology of our fascist foes will never and can never defeat the Spirit of the People!

There are different connected realities in what we mortals can call worlds. There are worlds beyond this present here now of existential connected reality before us. but these worlds are actually alternate existences as 'real' as this one.
Most people are still stuck in their perception of a five-dimensional world within which they see, hear, taste, touch and smell with their ordinary five human sense-oragns. As we evole as a species humane beings will come to have an extraordinary multi-dimensional perception of the cosmos that naturally includes the so-called spiritual world.
In way, all that is in the world and all other worlds exist in the vortex of what I call connected reality. There are other spiritual worlds that we may not see with our naked eyes but that we sense with our intuition.
This is not new age nonsense, these are actually ancient truths!
Some of us are already in Aztlan and many have never left!
Venceremos! ~Peta-de-Aztlan

Chicano Warrior Enters the Spirit World
On Tuesday September 12, 2007 compañero Ralph Cerda, quietly and peacefully in his sleep, entered the spirit world. For those who never met Ralph, he was my closest friend, compadre, "son in law" and partner in the Chicano Movement since high school in the 70's. You would recognize him as the tall, burly, biker type Chicano at most Chicano events, behind the scenes, helping to do whatever was necessary. We both attended Pius X Catholic High School in Downey, California and he was active in the MAYA (Mexican American Youth Association) Club, the first Chicano campus organization to my knowledge in a Catholic School. A registered member of La Raza Unida Party, he was a supporter to the end. We both came to be active members of the National Chicano Moratorium Committee as preparations for the 10th anniversary in 1980 were being made. When the Ku Klux Klan began to surface in the 80's Ralph was part of the contingent from Los Angeles that went to Fontana to support Armando Navarro's anti Klan rally. He stood with us against the crowd of Nazis and Klansman that were there to disrupt the rally. When the Klan surfaced in Paramount, California, he was part of the organized resistance that the local chapter of La Raza Unida used to drive the Klan out of Paramount. The results of that work were several parks, recreation programs and a positive climate for a new counselor to develop a national model for a counter-gang recruitment curriculum first implemented in the Paramount Unified School District, later taken nationwide. From Central American Support Activities, Hermandad Mexicana Migrant Rights marches in the 80's to the annual National Chicano Moratorium commemorations in Los Angeles, CA, Ralph was there. Not much for being in the limelight or speaking publicly, he preferred to be low key and always referred inquiring minds to the other veteran activists present. The recent Minuteman resistance activities in Los Angeles would always find him there, never afraid to face the racists and bigots that plague our society. Just before his passing we had planned to travel together to Sonora, Mexico to attend two major indigenous gatherings in early October, the Zapatistas North American Regional Conference and the Encuentro de Pueblos Indígenas de America. He was very excited about going and taking a lot of pictures for a visual report of this historic gathering. He will still travel with me in spirit and I wish to honor him by going. On the next August 29th, Chicano Memorial Day his name will be included with the rest of the heroes and martyrs of the movimiento. The movimiento has many "Ralphs" – the silent activists that are always there, watching our backs. Without them there would be no movimiento. It will be with great honor and pride to say that I had the good fortune in most of my life to have Ralph in my life and will proudly shout "¡Presente! when his name is called.
¡Que viva Ralph Cerda!
